Top 5 Maps and Navigation Apps in Egypt: Q1 2022 Performance

In the first quarter of 2022, Egypt's top Maps and Navigation apps demonstrated diverse performance metrics on a unified platform, comprising both iOS and Android data. Here’s a breakdown of the weekly trends for the top five apps as reported by Sensor Tower.

DiDi Rider: Affordable rides from DiDi Global saw a significant decline in weekly downloads, starting at over 1M in the last week of December 2021 and dropping to around 159K by the end of March 2022. Despite this, weekly active users showed a steady increase, peaking at approximately 164K in the final week of March.

inDrive. Save on city rides maintained relatively stable weekly download numbers, fluctuating between 85K and 125K throughout the quarter. Weekly active users also remained consistent, with a slight increase from 311K at the beginning of January to around 346K by the end of March.

Swvl - Daily Bus Rides experienced a mixed quarter. Weekly downloads saw an initial dip but recovered to reach approximately 72K in mid-March. Weekly active users followed a similar pattern, culminating in a peak of around 133K in the last week of March.

Maps 3D - Offline Map had an impressive start with downloads peaking at 85K in late February. However, this number fell sharply to just over 2.7K by the end of March. Weekly active users mirrored this trend, starting at 482 in mid-January and reaching a high of approximately 52K in late February before declining to around 11.6K by the end of the quarter.

Uber - Request a ride from Uber Technologies, Inc. showed consistent growth in both downloads and active users. Weekly downloads increased from 40.7K in late December 2021 to about 43K by mid-March. Weekly active users saw a steady rise from 972K to nearly 1.15M over the same period.
